I recently picked up an Apple Magic Trackpad and after pairing with my iMac (Late 2009), I got this error in Safari: Operation not permitted. NSPOSIXErrorDomain:1. Can’t figure it out

After purchasing a song, I was given the error message “Not enough access privileges to perform this operation”, preventing me from downloading it.

I have paid for the song, however am unable to listen to it or apply it to my device.

Any suggestions?

So Whenever i export my HD 1080p file in FCPX 10.0.8 i get this error “the share operation master file has failed quicktime error: -50″

It happens about 12% of the way in. My movie is only 10 minutes long.

I have iTunes on a shared drive. I have an alias in Music to the ITunes folder on another drive. When it opens I get an error saying:

you do not have enough access privileges for this operation

All the permissions are set to all for the shared drive. How do I correct this so that I can have iTuines working properly?

This becomes more and more frustrating. At times even when I have closed and deleted recently views items using both QuickTime Player and VLC I still get the messgae.

“The operation can’t be completed because the item is in use.” When this happens the only way to empty the trash is by Secure Empty Trash. Is there something I am not doing correctly?

I can clear 5 items and the one that won’t clear isn’t even the last one that was watched. Very odd.

When attempting to add a new user under Server (5.0.15, OS X 10.10.5), I immediately get the following error:

“Operation is not supported by the directory node.”

I’ve completely destroyed and created a new open directory, tried adding users without open directory, etc. I’ve read that I need to check my certificate configuration. I did, but whenever Open Directory is created, it defaults to one of my imported StartSSL certificates instead of the certificate OD creates, and it won’t let me select any other certificate other than one of the StartSSL certificates I imported. DNS is properly configured.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I added a couple of users to my Mountain Lion Server (2011 mac mini server – 10.8.2). I have 25 clients running Lion (on mac mini – 2011) if that’s relevant. All recent updates applied.

This week, I tried to add 2 new users and get the error “Operation is not supported by the directory node” with no other error indicators. The users apparently add but are not set up correctly because once the error goes away, I’m able to click cancel in the user add window and the user shows up but with the message “not active/valid” or something to that effect beside them. Once of the two users did actually add without that error, but when I tried to log in with that user, the client gave me the rainbow wheel and any other client was also unable to login giving the error “unable to login at this time because of a problem.” I reboot the server and I can login again with the existing users, but once I try logging in with the recently added/incomplete user, the same problem occours again (rainbow wheel, existing users can’t login, must reboot.) I’ve googled it. I’ve looked at logs and am glad to post the output of anything relevant if required, but I’m not sure which logs to start with.

I’m using Serverapp to create users. I’m using workgroup manager to manage preferences. I have profile manager disabled (i could never get it to do what i wanted, especially with printers.)

I will also mention that in an attempt to perform some other maintenance (restriction related) I’ve moved all of my Teachers to a group called “Faculty” and all my students to a group called “Students.” I then added both of those groups to “Workgroup” since it has all of my general workgroup preferences (dock settings, software update, etc.) This had no effect on the login and this problem existed prior to me moving users around in groups, but just in case I figured I would add the information.

I just installed the OS X 10.11.1, and the quicktime plug-in is disabled along with another plug- in, I tried to remove these from the disabled plug-ins file, but it won’t let me and because “The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)”. I tried to move my other files, but the same thing happened. Can anyone help out with this? I have Macbook Pro with 500 storage, 4Gb memory. Also my I can’t open my mails after the installation. Safari is also running slow. What should I do ? ??

I am encountering a strange issue with two Mac laptops while a third one does not have the issue. Essentially, when I start iTunes, it complains a newer version is available and that I should download it. When I accept, it launches the App Store (as it should). However, this step fails. When I select the “updates” tab, I get a dialog box “An error has occurred”, with the message below:

The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1012.)

What does this mean ? How can I get to run updates on those computers again ?
